Crawlspace Waterproofing Done Right!
While it is very important to keep moisture out of your crawlspace with an encapsulation line, it can only do so much when it comes to huge amounts of water leakage. For cases of standing water under a home, we always recommend a sump pump that has an automatic float switch that can pump water as it fills the sump basin. Fed by a perimeter drain that runs along the length of the crawlspace, it carries water to the sump pump for eventual discharge by the drain hose that is connected to the pump. We can often tie into your A/C drainage line or make a discrete outlet through the foundation.
To keep silt and sediment from accumulating on the pump and burning it out, it is elevated in the basin and has intake filters. We also check it bi-annually to ensure that it is in working order and to see if it needs cleaning out.
